Вживання like, as if, as though

Коли ми порівнюємо щось з чимось, ми вживаємо одне з наступних дієслів look, feel, sound, taste + like, as if, as though, adjective.

look/feel/sound/taste + adjective

• This dress looks beautiful. (Ця сукня виглядає красиво.)
• This scarf feels soft. (Цей шарф дуже м'який на дотик.)



look/feel/sound/taste + like

Коли ми вживаємо іменник після look, feel, sound, taste, ми додаємо like.

• It sounds like thunder. (Звучить, наче грім.)
• It tastes like chicken. (За смаком, наче курка.)



look/feel/sound/taste + as if/as though

Коли у нас йде речення (clause) після look, feel, sound, taste, ми вживаємо as if/as though. Ми також можемо вживати like.

• It smells as if something is burning in the kitchen. (По запаху, як щось горить на кухні.)
• It looks as though they are arguing with each other. (Виглядає так, ніби вони сваряться один з одним.)
